FAQs

 Booking A Session

  • Music Patch Studios can be booked via phone, text message, email, IG, or our website! Once we receive your details, we’ll let you know when the studio is available and send an invoice for the studio deposit. When the deposit payment is received, the session is confirmed and finalized! We’ll send you some information to help your session go smoothly and payment for the remaining balance is made at the studio, in person when you arrive for your session.

  • Music Patch accepts credit card payments, cash payments, and most mobile banking systems (i.e. Apple Pay or Google Pay). At this time, we can only accept card payments via tap, and can not swipe or accept chip cards.

  • Music Patch Studios is available by appointment only. However, short-notice sessions may be available if you request a booking now. Please note that an online or cash deposit is still required prior to the session.

  • When you arrive late for your session, the time can not be extended, and no discounts are provided. This is in part due to the fact that bookings can include an engineer, and their time is also valuable. If you are more than 15 minutes late without providing notice of your estimated arrival time you will have your session canceled as the studio reserves this right your deposit will be forfeited. We encourage you to give us a call if you think you will be late for your session so we can discuss possible solutions with you personally.

  • Session bookings should all be completed with our online deposit format if possible. If you absolutely cannot pay online, contact us with information regarding your situation and we’ll see what we can do!

  • In the unfortunate event that you need to cancel or reschedule a session you’ve already booked, a minimum of 24 hours notice must be provided before the booked session. If at least 24 hours notice is not provided, the session booking’s online deposit is forfeited. For sessions scheduled within the 24-hour time frame, deposits are also forfeited. Clients that provided the required notice will be able to reschedule and transfer the deposit to a new booking or get a refund.

  • We have 3 total spots available - 2 in front of the studio building and one in the driveway. These spots are first-come first-serve and are not guaranteed. Should none of these spots be available upon your arrival, we ask that you park up the street near the houses under construction, as there are over 50 spaces there.

  • Please contact us by calling, texting, emailing us or using IG to let us know you’re here. A studio representative will meet with you as soon as we’re aware of your arrival!

Studio Sessions

  • You will need the following:

    • A Valid Identification (Drivers License)

    • The instrumental, beat, backing track, or stems you plan to use for your session

    • A flash drive or portable hard drive to transfer and store session files.

No session files are stored or saved on site so it is important that you bring your own method of storage (flash/hard drive).

But most importantly, don’t forget to bring an amazing attitude and your creativity! We can’t wait to create magic with you!

  • You will need your instrumental or beat and your lyrics ready (unless you plan to write in session). You can bring these items on a flash drive or portable hard drive. You can also email a copy to your engineer at the beginning of your session!

  • Music Patch Studios does not hide any fees from our clients. When booking an engineer, you may request that they mix, master, record, or spend that session time on wherever you need them most. We do offer remote mixing & mastering services if you need to get something mixed/mastered but don’t need to record it with us here at Music Patch. However, when booking an engineer with your session that time is yours to spend as you choose.

Our engineers control their remote rates themselves, so you may refer to their pages for updated pricing.

  • When you book an engineer, they will always strive to send you home with the best sound possible. This is your time, so it will be up to you whether you’d like to set aside time at the end of your session for the engineer to mix, or simply record as many songs as possible within the allotted session length.

  • Mixing time can vary heavily between songs, and a lot of factors play into the time it takes to complete a mix. For a single-track Rap or Hip-Hop Project, we would recommend at least 2 hours dedicated solely to mixing. However, if a more complex mix needs multi-track recording, additional edits, track-level automation, additional panning, and possible effect parameters, then it could take much longer (up to 6-8 hours). We ask clients to consider this and try to plan effectively.

To get the most bang for your buck, we recommend booking remote mixes with our engineers. These are priced at a flat rate, and the engineer will dedicate as much time as needed to get the best mix possible.

  • No - after a session is ended, your engineer will transfer the session files to your flash drive or portable hard drive. The song is formatted in both MP3 (regular) and WAV (better quality, larger size), so the song itself may be sent through email. Then along with the song in MP3/WAV format, the entire session (ProTools) files. These files are too large for transferring through email. So, they must be transferred directly into the client’s flash drive or hard drive. They can also be transferred to a laptop. If you wish to make changes to a song you previously recorded, you must bring the previous session (ProTools) files. Your engineer can then open them and make necessary adjustments at your next studio session. We do not store or save files.

  • "Clients shall make commercially reasonable efforts for engineers to receive credit in the following format: “Sound Engineer: [Contractor’s Agent’s Name].” The size, style of type, duration, and other attributes (except position) of the engineer's credit shall be determined in accordance with music industry practices relative to sound engineers."

  • Yes, but only if you need someone to operate equipment and provide assistance during your studio session. We do provide studio rental to clients who will be bringing their own sound engineer that is proficient in working unassisted with studio equipment.

  • Yes, your engineer can help you download beats from the internet. Links can be emailed to your engineer at the beginning of the session!

  • Yes, an engineer can help you grab a beat from YouTube upon request. Links can be emailed to our engineers at the beginning of the session.

  • Vocal recording and speed can vary between vocalists. Here at Music Patch, we recommend at least 2 hours for vocal recordings for a single Pop, Hip-Hop, or RnB track (not including mixing).

  • You are required to bring a flash drive or portable hard drive to transfer session files. We highly recommend a hard drive with high speed. This saves time when transferring and allows focus on the music, as all tasks need to be completed within the pre-booked sessions (all files must be transferred BEFORE your session time ends). Our studio does not store or save any files.

  • We refer to the "Recording Agreement", that states that "all stages of development, rights, title, and interest pertaining to any and all copyrightable work products of the Services (collectively, “Work Product”) will be the exclusive property of the Client.

  • Music Patch does not provide a producer for your session. However, we have a VAST network of producers with varying experience levels, pricing, and credits. If you fill out the contact form, we would be happy to get you in touch with them through email. These producers will discuss with you the finer points of music production to accompany your song. Rates can vary greatly with each producer. During these conversations, you can also receive more information for copyrights and royalties, establish production rates and create an agreement. Each client and producer are accountable for all legal and monetary business pertaining to use and sale of tracks. Our Studio has no involvement in any legal business concerning tracks, producers and clients. The Studio only acts as a broker regarding music production requests.
